About the role

  • Developing, building, testing, and maintaining Akamai server equipment to ensure optimal functionality and reliability across various operational environments.
  • Creating specifications and design documentation for server systems.
  • Validating pre-production systems to ensure quality and performance.
  • Supporting the full hardware development lifecycle, from conception to deployment, delivering high-quality platforms and Escalations.
  • Collaborating with industry partners, OEM/ODM suppliers, and internal teams to design efficient, reliable, and high-performance computing systems.
  • Working with systems responsible for testing x86 server hardware and embedded software.
  • Managing hardware failure escalations and coordinate resolutions with OEM/ODM suppliers for deployed systems.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the hardware development lifecycle, including pre-production sample validation and mass production processes.
  • Possess a background in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field.
  • Demonstrate expertise in server components like Disk, RAM, NIC, and GPU, alongside knowledge of qualification processes.
  • Specialize in lab systems and infrastructure, including switches, routers, fiber optics, oscilloscopes, with expertise in failure analysis investigations.
  • Excel in Python and Bash scripting for automation, diagnostics, system administration, with foundational knowledge of low-level software concepts.
  • Be passionate about computers and Embedded systems , with a quick learning ability and strong adaptability to new and emerging technologies.
