About the role
- Take ownership of new business by showing value and selling enterprise cybersecurity solutions to new customers
- Identify, develop and close new business with prospective Akamai customers
- Deliver joint value proposition through in-person meetings and sales activities
- Be a trusted advisor to customers and lead the integrated account team to deliver success
- Maintain trusted high-level relationships with customers and field teams
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in selling to U.S. Government agencies
- Experience selling enterprise-class technology, which may include cybersecurity solutions
- Success in strategic greenfield sales and building long-term relationships with senior government officials and Federal prime contractors/partners
- Familiarity with U.S. Government acquisition standards and practices
- Ability to prioritize mission support, customer focus, security, and using proven, but creative sales and marketing practices
