About the role

  • Architecting & evolving MySQL topologies
  • Performing research, test, and assist with deployment of database performance and reliability improvements
  • Leading query tuning and index strategy
  • Implementing observability and automation for our database environment
  • Driving root-cause analysis for database incidents; document and implement corrective and preventative actions

Requirements

  • Have relevant experience and a Bachelors diploma in Computer Science or related field
  • Have deep expertise in MySQL 8 internals, including schema/index design, optimizer behavior, InnoDB and replication
  • Have deep expertise in ProxySQL and Galera Cluster
  • Have in-depth knowledge of Linux (performance, file systems, I/O, process/threading, networking)
  • Be proficient in Python and shell for tooling and automation
  • Have understanding of computer networking (TCP, TLS, load balancing, DNS, routing/NAT, firewalls) and how it impacts databases
