Material Handler – Parts Warehouse Technician

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Safety, Quality, and Compliance
- Follow all safety, environmental, and quality policies, including SOPs, JHAs, and ISO standards.
- Identify and report hazards immediately to ensure swift correction.
- Utilize required PPE, including respirators, and maintain knowledge of chemical hazards.
- Complete assigned SEQ-related PM work orders.
- Warehouse & Inventory Management
- Monitor goods issue service windows and handle daily receipts, including scanning documents into SAP (MIGO).
- Maintain accurate parts locations, perform bin-to-bin transfers, and manage warehouse stock placement.
- Coordinate incoming deliveries and outgoing equipment repairs with Logistics.
- Identify materials for obsoletion and assist with physical inventory audits and fiscal requirements.
- Manage tools, issue portable gas monitors, and maintain the tool area.
- Material Handling & Equipment Operation
- Operate heavy machinery, including forklifts, telehandlers, and aerial lifts, to load/unload and move equipment.
- Ensure documentation for deliveries (BOLs and COAs) is accurate and meets quality standards.
- Continuous Improvement & Collaboration
- Collaborate across departments and with contractors to accomplish goals.
- Suggest and implement operational improvements, cost-reduction ideas, and best practices.
- Conduct routine 5S sustainability audits and area inspections to maintain a clean, organized, and safe workplace, ensuring tools and materials are stored in their designated functional locations.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Education: High School diploma or equivalent; 2-year degree in Business or Industrial Maintenance preferred.
- Experience: 5+ years of material moving/forklift operation and 3+ years in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Certifications: Forklift certification required; training in rigging for complex lifts is essential.
- Systems: Proficiency in SAP, eMaint, and Microsoft Office is required.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and hazardous material handling.
- Thorough knowledge of industry, equipment, and parts.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to operate cars, trucks, forklifts and other powered equipment and tools.
- Ability to use respirators with knowledge of chemicals.
- Use of required personal protective equipment in the manufacturing environment.
