About the role
- Oversee the operations of a warehouse or storage facility
- Ensure all incoming and outgoing inventory is processed according to schedule
- Regularly audit and report inventory levels
- Make recommendations for restocking items
- Supervise and manage warehouse staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating performance
- Develop and implement warehouse policies and procedures to improve efficiency and productivity
- Ensure the warehouse complies with all safety regulations and standards
- Conduct safety training and audits
- Work closely with other departments, such as logistics and sales, to ensure smooth operations and timely shipments
- Optimize the layout and storage of the warehouse to maximize space and improve workflow
- Generate regular reports on warehouse performance, including inventory levels, order fulfillment rates, and other key metrics
Requirements
- Several years of experience in warehouse management or a related field
- Proficiency in warehouse management software
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- A degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field is often preferred
- Familiarity with key performance indicators (KPIs) for warehousing
- Solid understanding of safety regulations and best practices
