Coordinate day-to-day import/export of (international) freight forwarding shipments through road transportation
Work with customers to qualify shipping requirements and obtain regulations, certificates, documentation necessary for shipment quotation and operation
Prepare profitable quotations accurately
Set shipping schedules and communicate with customers, deliverers, and ports to verify loading, departures, and arrivals
Coordinate the day-to-day import and/or export of products, including reviewing orders and documents
Track and communicate all delays, damages, problems and resolve customer issues
Responsible for customer service, data entry of shipments, operations and billing
Manage all aspects of tracking shipments and update system upon verification
Identify and rectify shipment schedule deviations
Coordinate recovery/delivery schedules with cartage agents and international partners
Partner with local sales teams to communicate problems to customers and partners
Ensure customers’ SOP instructions, AIT KPIs and guidelines are followed and met
Ensure all shipments are properly billed within company guidelines and timelines
Process and comply with all requirements listed by regulatory agencies
Continuous learning through compliance training and software/regulation certifications
Execute Dangerous Goods shipments in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
Contribute to a healthy and secure work environment by reporting unsafe/unsecure/unhealthy conditions
Requirements
High School Degree or equivalent
Ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously
Team player who works well with others
Customer service focus
Resolves non-routine problems with specialized knowledge
Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices
Utilizes established procedures but decides action within task
Ability to perform in a fast pace / high volume work environment
Attention to detail
Problem Solving
Fluent oral and written English
Additional European languages (Dutch) an asset
Strong PC skills (Windows, Microsoft Office applications) preferred
CargoWise Software experience a plus
ITAR, Dangerous Goods or TSA work experience / regulations
