About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Coordinate day-to-day import and export ocean freight shipments in and out of the Netherlands
Communicate with customers, carriers, ports, and internal teams to ensure timely loading, departures, and arrivals
Prepare accurate and profitable shipment quotations based on customer requirements
Ensure all documentation, certificates, and regulatory requirements are in place for each shipment
Track shipments, manage exceptions, and proactively resolve delays or issues
Handle data entry, billing, and compliance for all international ocean operations
Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to maintain high customer satisfaction
Ensure adherence to customer SOPs, AIT KPIs, and regulatory standards
Coordinate with international partners and cartage agents for delivery and recovery
Support Dangerous Goods shipments in compliance with applicable laws (if applicable)
Contribute to a safe and secure work environment by reporting risks and suggesting improvements.

Requirements

What you’ll need

High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience in international freight forwarding (ocean freight preferred)
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a high-volume environment
Fluent in English (spoken and written); additional European languages are a plus
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word); CargoWise experience is a plus
Familiarity with ITAR, TSA, or Dangerous Goods regulations is an advantage
Customer-focused mindset with excellent communication skills
Quick learner, adaptable, and detail-oriented.
