About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the engineering, manufacturing and procurement process
  • Coordinate with internal and external engineering resources
  • Assist in the development of project proposals, cost estimates and budgets, timelines and schedules
  • Support and comply with all process safety management and risk management plan practices
  • Support all personnel policies directed by local and corporate personnel
  • Learn the skills and gain exposure to use of motor protection relays
  • Build a project to update obsolete units
  • Complete digital backups for all in service relays
  • Support the Reliability team with health assessments of critical medium voltage equipment in the US and Canada

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Currently working towards a graduate or undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
  • 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA
  • Prior internship experience preferred but not required
  • Dependable, quick learner who is independent and works well with others
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Detail-oriented and quality focused
  • Ability and desire to work in industrial environments
  • Strong verbal communication, organization, scheduling skills
  • Ability to learn and utilize Google applications (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail)
  • Able to save and maintain electronic files
  • Ability to learn and use additional 3rd party software programs
  • Ability to write routine business correspondence in English
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from Associates and/or customers
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals using the English language
  • Ability to prioritize workload and self-manage projects, handle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines
