Perform maintenance, inspections, assembly, installation, repair or replacement of aircraft components and systems
Conduct advanced troubleshooting to diagnose malfunctions and determine corrective actions to assure safety and airworthiness
Conduct airframe calendar/hourly inspections and hidden damage inspections of structures and sub-assemblies
Conduct operational and functional checks of structures, systems, and components; perform flight tests
Perform track and balancing of rotor systems and vibration analysis
Observe FOD, tool control and calibrated tool policies; accept field assignments
Accomplish in-process and final inspections, including "Clearance-to-close", torque verifications, dimensional checks, flight control rigging
Perform receiving inspections and determine overall airworthiness; document and return components to service
Lead Technician duties: conduct daily huddles, assign maintenance tasks, identify/elevate performance and safety concerns
On-site customer support: diagnose and resolve complex technical issues and perform contracted tasks
Documentation and compliance: update maintenance tracking program, monitor/forecast maintenance, ensure compliance with FAA and company procedures
Research, compile and document maintenance for airframe, engine, accessories and components; perform mass and balance calculations per AC 43.13-1B, chapter 10
Requirements
Minimum eight (8) years of aviation maintenance experience on the BK117 C2/D3 or EC135 OR 12 years of rotary wing experience with at least 6 months on BK117 C2/D3 or EC135
Current FAA A&P license
Minimum two (2) years of Leadership Experience and/or equivalent education/training
Background in aviation maintenance on like type aircraft and systems
General knowledge of standard practices and troubleshooting methods
Familiarity with FAA regulations 14 CFR Parts 27, 29, 39, 43, 91, 135, and 145
Complete understanding of the BK117 C2 with high-level troubleshooting expertise on all aircraft systems
Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written English
Ability to obtain and maintain a Government security clearance
Citizenship: US Person under ITAR definition required (U.S. Citizen, green card holder or person covered under existing ITAR license)
Travel required (~65% domestic and international)
Physical abilities: lift up to 60lbs, carry up to 30lbs, climb on/around helicopters, stand/walk/sit/squat/kneel as required, able to fly in aircraft
