About the role
- Generate and review safety assessments and analyses for aircraft systems, including Functional Hazard Assessments (FHA), preliminary System Safety Assessments (pSSA), System Safety Assessments (SSA), and qualitative fault assessments.
- Create and review common-cause analyses such as Particular Risk Analyses and Zonal Safety Analyses.
- Support system design teams and suppliers to ensure compliance with safety objectives and requirements.
- Track and document safety-related requirements throughout the development lifecycle.
- Review Instructions for Continued Airworthiness to ensure safety compliance of the in-service fleet.
- Provide input to identify safety considerations in support of system development or modification activities.
- Manage inputs from and outputs to interfacing technical domains and technologies (processes, maintenance, human factors, aircraft performance and quality, etc.).
- Document and report findings and contributions.
- Assume functional and/or project-related tasks within projects.
- Prepare documentation and present work results.
Requirements
- University degree (typically up to 4 years of study) in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Aerospace Engineering, or a comparable field, or completed vocational training with extensive subject-specific additional qualifications.
- Relevant knowledge and experience in the areas of responsibility described above.
- Advanced knowledge and experience in Safety and Reliability Engineering within the aviation industry.
- Advanced knowledge of aircraft systems.
- Advanced knowledge of safety processes, regulations, and guidelines (e.g., CS/AC 25.1309, ARP4761, ARP4754A).
- Target-oriented with analytical problem-solving skills.
- Willingness and ability to learn new topics.
- Capacity to perform multiple systems safety tasks in parallel.
- Team player who is organized, autonomous, and has good communication skills.
- Very good written and spoken German and English.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
