About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build iOS experiences bringing account features to millions of Airbnb guests and hosts
Own complex features end-to-end, from technical design through launch
Design and build iOS features using modern declarative UI and unidirectional state architecture
Partner with product and design to turn concepts into polished, accessible iOS experiences
Collaborate with backend, Android, and web engineers to maintain consistent feature behavior and data across platforms
Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code
Participate in code and design reviews
Mentor engineers and improve iOS engineering practices as the team scales
Troubleshoot and resolve iOS app performance and reliability issues
Establish patterns and technical foundations for the growing iOS presence of Passport & Commerce

Requirements

What you’ll need

6+ years of professional iOS engineering experience
Experience shipping and maintaining features in a large-scale, production consumer app
Strong proficiency in Swift
Strong proficiency in modern iOS architecture, including declarative UI such as SwiftUI
Experience with unidirectional state management (MVI/MVVM/Redux-style)
Experience with dependency injection
Experience partnering with backend and Android/web engineers to shape APIs and maintain cross-platform consistency
Track record of owning complex features end-to-end, from technical design through launch and iteration
Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to team-level technical decisions
Comfort operating with ambiguity on a newly formed team
Understanding of mobile app performance, accessibility, and release/CI practices
Must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity
