Key responsibilities & impact

Build microservices and APIs to drive platform integrations across web and mobile platforms
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build interfaces and systems that evolve to meet critical business needs

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience
9+ years of industry experience
Real-world experience and demonstrable knowledge of Java, Kotlin, relational databases, or distributed systems
Experience leading teams through technical discussions and mentoring engineers
Experience driving engineering excellence across team boundaries
Ability to align partner teams on architectural decisions and trade-offs
Knowledge of high-scale web application architecture, well-designed APIs, data pipelines, and efficient algorithms
Experience or desire to work collaboratively with design, product, and data science partners
Familiarity with AI development tools
Strong understanding of systems reliability, observability, incident management, and fault-tolerant services
Experience managing engineers, or strong interest in growing into people leadership
Must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity
