About the role
- Provide & maintain a safe work environment for self & all team members.
- Employ good housekeeping methods and demonstrate leadership with all company & industry safe work processes to prevent injuries.
- Ensure proper documentation is maintained for safety related activities.
- PID reviews/usage
- Reading P&ID’s / Interpreting Construction Drawings, Red Lining As Built P&ID’s
- Initiating / Implementing MOC’s
- Punch Listing (Identifying Deficiencies in Design, Reliability, Operability, and Safety)
- Implement System Flushing / Line Blowouts, Purging / Initial Dry-Out
- Basic DCS / PLC Knowledge
- Alarm Management Review
- Logic, Function Testing
- Computer Logic / Interlocks, Implement Cause and Effect testing
- Implement Vessel Inspections
- Ensure Site/CSU Safety
- Follow site safety plan
- Implement Lock Out / Tag Out Plan
- Training Development/Presentation of Training Materials
- Review Technical Manuals
- Ensure proper installation Relief Devices, verify test data
- Compressor commissioning, function testing
- Maintain Commissioning Log / Issue Daily/Monthly Reports
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of Engineering or Operations experience, 5 years in a commissioning role.
- Confirmed ability to operate, commission, startup, tackle, assess and resolve various plant related issues.
- Experience and knowledge in overall plant commissioning principles.
- Knowledge in additional technologies a plus : Air Separation, HYCO, Gasification, Ammonia, H2 Electrolyzers, Helium process systems desired.
- Strong background in all aspects of operating facilities including machinery, instrumentation and controls, electrical, mechanical systems, and sophisticated controls across multiple technologies.
- Shown operations and technical skills.
- Ability to read P&IDs, isometrics, interpret develop curves of field machinery, read electrical single line drawings, understand controls nomenclature & function checking of field equipment
- Knowledgeable in process safety, health, and local environmental requirements.
- A strong commitment to employee involvement, team building and diversity.
- Regional travel of 75 – 80% per year with potential Global travel
- The ability to represent the America’s Commissioning and Startup Organization and Air Products in front of our participants (project teams, construction, operations, and our customers)
- Able to communicate between management, operations, maintenance, customers.
- Proficiency in English speaking and writing.
- Shown leadership, organizational, computer and social skills combined with good communications skills (written and verbal).
- Formal training and experience with leading RCA’s, the six-sigma process, and continuous improvement tools a plus.
