About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead maintenance staff and support Air Methods’ mission, goals, and objectives
- Oversee daily operations of aircraft maintenance services and ensure safety is the top priority
- Audit program maintenance locations for parts, supplies, tool calibrations, safety concerns, and base needs
- Receive and help resolve flight issues and concerns, including RSQ911 feedback
- Attend hospital/program meetings and training
- Collaborate with other discipline leads on maintenance and program operations
- Assist the Area Manager with employee scheduling
- Disseminate new information and support problem resolution
- Keep maintenance publications and company manuals current and available
- Ensure aircraft maintenance documentation complies with Federal Aviation Regulations and company policies
- Review Mechanical Interruption Summaries or Service Difficulty Reports
- Correct compliance and safety issues when directed by authorized leaders
- Validate aircraft Status Report data, discrepancies, inspections, ADs, service bulletins, servicing intervals, and component configuration
- Schedule aircraft maintenance and provide current aircraft status and downtime forecasts
- Participate in maintenance forecasting calls and monitor assigned HY packages
- Troubleshoot and assist outlying mechanics with problem solving
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate’s degree (A.A./A.S.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, and five years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Manufacturers training on company-specific aircraft preferred
- Electrical troubleshooting experience
- Refined vibration-balancing skills
- Sheet metal and composite repair procedure knowledge
- Ability to read and understand 337s, Service Bulletins, ADs, and related documents
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
- Professional team-player attitude
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime and a 24/7 on-call rotation when needed
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- RAMCO experience preferred
- FAA A&P License in good standing
- Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred
- Subject to DOT/FAA drug and alcohol testing requirements
- Regular scheduled attendance and timely on-call availability during nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary
- Periodic travel expected in support of Part 135 operations and company objectives; stated travel percentage is 25–50%
