About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Evaluate operational compliance across safety, flight operations, maintenance operations, and procedures in the General Operations Manual
  • Conduct initial and recurrent ground and flight training
  • Conduct transition, differences, and restricted operations checks (ROC) training
  • Correct and report out-of-compliance issues immediately and coordinate unresolved issues with the ACP and Regional Aviation or Maintenance Director
  • Assist in developing and implementing flight and ground training schedules
  • Ensure standardized training and checking procedures are followed
  • Assist the CP and ACP with pilot record keeping in accordance with applicable FARs and policies
  • Submit required reports in a timely manner
  • Operate advanced aviation training devices and full-motion simulators as required
  • Assist with aircraft checklist and Pilot Training Program development
  • Assist in developing and conducting basic indoctrination, instrument, and night vision goggle (NVG) training
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED and three to five years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Recommendation from a current Air Methods Flight Instructor or Check Airman preferred
  • Previous Instructor/Check Airman experience
  • ATP rating in aircraft category preferred
  • Commercial/Instrument rating required
  • Must meet total flight hour requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to implement initial and recurrent training programs
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all levels
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • CFI / CFII (Rotor wing), or willingness to obtain within one year
  • Subject to DOT/FAA drug and/or alcohol testing requirements
  • Regular scheduled attendance required
  • Must follow Air Methods’ employment practices and policies
