About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assembles Mechanical and Sheet Metal Products using engineering drawings and sketches for aircraft and ground vehicles
- Review completed work and ensure that the final assemblies and details are protected from damage
- Ensure that all assembly work meet quality standards.
- Perform testing and functional checks of assembled products.
- Review drawings, and parts lists for accuracy and coordinates with other departments to resolve issues.
- Coordinate with repair station inspectors for final inspection and sign-off of completed tasks.
- Tear-down, evaluate and repair of returned components.
- Resolve assembly and documentation problems, report problems to the appropriate lead or supervisor for assistance and follows up with all non-compliance issues.
- Assist in on the job training.
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required
- Three to ten years’ related experience (fabrication; aircraft sheet metal / structure repairs)
- One year certificate from college or technical school preferred
- Experience using precision measuring equipment
- Experience in use of sheet metal related shop equipment.
