About the role
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements, including agreements with hospitals and municipalities, real estate and equipment leases, supplier and vendor agreements, software and IT agreements, and consulting and professional services agreements
- Handle complex and strategic agreements such as HBS and ADM agreements and enterprise-wide software agreements
- Oversee the day-to-day operations and administration of Air Methods’ contracting process using the company’s contracts management software
- Serve as lead internal attorney on EEOC charges and lower value litigation matters and assist on higher value litigation
- Develop and maintain standard contract templates and forms
- Touchpoint for HR business partners on routine issues, such as questions regarding leaves of absence, FMLA
- Work with Government Affairs team on state-level issues and provide regulatory research and advice
- Perform other duties as assigned; no supervisory responsibilities; travel approximately 5%
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) and four to seven years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 4-7 years’ transactional experience in a law firm or in-house position, including experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
- Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. state
- Working knowledge of HIPAA rules and regulations preferred
- Experience in the healthcare or aviation industry preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently in high-pressure situations
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Regular scheduled attendance
- Subject to applicable laws and Air Methods’ policies, ability to meet attendance and travel requirements (5% travel)
