About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee the day-to-day coordination, development, revision, formatting, and document control compliance of Air Methods’ operational documentation.
  • Help ensure publications are accurate, user-focused, consistent with company formatting and document control standards.
  • Actively draft, edit, format, review, and maintain documentation alongside a small team while coordinating daily publication activities and workflow.
  • Work closely with cross-functional subject-matter experts to develop clear, practical documentation that supports safe, compliant, and efficient operations.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in Journalism or Technical Communications from a four-year college or university.
  • 1–3 years of experience in a leadership, lead writer, or supervisory role, with 3–5 years of technical writing experience.
  • Familiarity with regulated documentation environments (e.g., aviation, medical, or utilities); ability to learn and apply FAA Part 135 and CAMTS standards quickly.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated adaptability to shifting requirements, timelines, and regulatory constraints.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex requirements into clear guidance.
  • Proven experience planning, designing, implementing, testing, and delivering documentation projects end-to-end.
  • Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional stakeholders and leadership.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Familiar with Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Visio, or similar visual documentation software.
  • Familiar with Adobe FrameMaker or a similar document-publishing tool.
  • Experience with Microsoft Forms development.
  • Certified Document Controller or similar professional certification, preferred
