About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage patching, updates, and lifecycle for Azure VMs and cloud workloads.
- Support remaining on-premises infrastructure through its planned transition to cloud.
- Maintain operational documentation, standards, and procedures.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers to resolve infrastructure issues.
- Act as an escalation point for complex infrastructure issues.
- Troubleshoot cloud, server, networking, identity, and application connectivity problems.
- Participate in root cause analysis, major incident response, and problem management.
- Support Microsoft Entra ID administration and identity services.
- Assist with Conditional Access, MFA, RBAC, vulnerability management, and platform hardening.
- Participate in DevSecOps practices, including scanning pipelines and shift-left collaboration with Development.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, Development, and business stakeholders on projects and continuous improvement.
- Use Jira and Azure DevOps to track work and document activities.
- Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts and automation solutions.
- Leverage Claude and Azure AI capabilities to improve troubleshooting, documentation, and operational efficiency.
- Contribute to infrastructure modernization and cloud optimization initiatives.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3–5 years of infrastructure, systems administration, or cloud operations experience.
- Hands-on experience administering Microsoft Azure environments.
- Experience supporting Windows Server environments.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra ID.
- Experience with PowerShell scripting.
- Experience working within a cross-functional Cloud Operations or DevSecOps team.
- Experience using work management and collaboration platforms such as Jira.
- Availability for occasional scheduled maintenance windows and after-hours response during major incidents or critical outages.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Understanding of networking, identity, and security fundamentals.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) certification is a plus.
