About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Pipeline building: You identify decision-makers (CIOs, Heads of Data/AI, CDOs) at mid-market and large companies.
  • Outbound excellence: You use social selling (LinkedIn), email and phone to make first contact and generate interest in our Data & AI services.
  • Discovery: You pre-qualify leads and determine whether the customer needs a centralized Data Lakehouse (Databricks) or a modern analytics platform (Microsoft Fabric).
  • Scheduling: You arrange discovery calls for our Account Executives and ensure a seamless handover.
  • Brand ambassador: You represent Ailio and our philosophy: Together. Simple. Get things done. Over time, you will transition into an Account Executive (AE) role.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Sales experience: Initial experience in sales, business development or account management (ideally in a B2B environment or in SaaS/IT services).
  • Technical understanding: You do not need to be a data scientist, but you should understand what terms like cloud computing, data lakehouse, machine learning and generative AI mean. Knowledge of the Microsoft ecosystem (Azure) is a major plus.
  • Language skills: Business-fluent German (C2) for communication with the German Mittelstand and very good English for working in a tech environment.
  • Tool stack: Confident use of CRM systems (e.g., Pipedrive, Salesforce or HubSpot) as well as research tools like LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
  • Academic background: A degree in business administration, business informatics, marketing or a comparable qualification is advantageous, but not required if you have relevant experience.
  • Communication skills: The ability to explain complex tech topics (e.g., “modernizing data architecture”) in simple, benefit-oriented sentences.
  • Resilience & persistence: High tolerance for rejection in cold outreach — you see a “no” as a step toward the next “yes”.
  • Initiative & structure: You can organize yourself, prioritize leads and manage your pipeline in a disciplined way.
  • Empathy & listening: You ask the right questions to identify the customer’s pain points (e.g., data silos or inefficient processes) instead of just following a script.
  • Willingness to learn: The AI world changes daily. You enjoy continuously learning new technologies like Microsoft Fabric or Databricks.

Benefits

Comp & perks
  • Flexibility: Modern ways of working, flat hierarchies and a crew that supports each other.
  • Learning curve: Direct collaboration with our CEO and deep insights into the most exciting tech stacks of the decade.
  • Premium positioning: You don’t sell standard software but high-end consulting and innovative solutions.
