About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assessment of liability risks, individual pricing and preparation of bespoke quotations
  • Management of international liability programmes including English-language communication with foreign brokers, clients and colleagues
  • Active market cultivation including identification of new business opportunities
  • Development and implementation of specialised, innovative coverage and service concepts
  • Commissioning and participation in risk surveys
  • Analysis of liability insurance contracts and policy wording concepts
  • Analysis and drafting of bespoke contractual clauses and policy wordings
  • Legal and coverage-related evaluation, commentary and weighting of contractual liability agreements in German and English
  • Active participation in projects within and outside the department

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree in Law, Business Administration or a comparable field (Master’s degree advantageous)
  • Solid professional experience as an underwriter in industrial international liability business
  • Several years’ experience in drafting insurance conditions, concepts and wordings
  • Convincing market presence and strong communication skills (including relationship building)
  • Dexterity in dialogue and dealing with clients and brokers
  • Team player, able to work independently, quick to grasp new information and decisive
  • High degree of self-motivation, resilience, particularly when working under stress and tight deadlines, and assertiveness
  • Strong service orientation – internally and externally
  • Relevant experience at a broker or client is an advantage
  • Excellent German and English skills
  • Willingness to travel regularly (10–20%)
