About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Supporting the AIG APAC insurance business, working as a member of the APAC actuarial team to drive reserving transformation and deliver data-driven insights that support strategic initiatives
  • Modernize local regulatory reporting processes for AIG's Australia and New Zealand offices through automation and data integration
  • Quarterly valuation, solvency calculations and IFRS 17 disclosures
  • Quarterly Board and Risk committee reporting
  • Annual Insurance Liability Valuation Report and Financial Condition / Stress Testing Report
  • Coordinate and streamline US GAAP quarterly management reporting requirements with the regional tower leads
  • Assist in supporting strategic portfolio reviews and deep dive analyses of certain business segments within APAC
  • Review of capital projections and investment strategies including ALM (“Asset Liability Matching)
  • Provide support to the budget loss ratio exercise and annual financial planning
  • Assist in other ad-hoc analyses as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • General Insurance reserving experience preferred in long tail lines
  • Working knowledge of typical actuarial reserving software
  • Technical proficiency in R, Python, and/or SQL for data analysis, transformation, and automation
  • Working knowledge of data visualization and reporting tools, particularly Power BI and workflow automation tools such as Power Automate, RPA platforms, or similar automation technologies
  • Ability to identify manual processes and design automated solutions that improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with focus on process improvement and scalability
  • Effective project & time management and strong communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as take responsibility for individual contribution
