About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Draft and develop new and updated standard proprietary AIG products, policies, and endorsements
Support Compliance and Regulatory Filings
Support the Lead Underwriting Counsel in providing advice to CUO
Develop AIG policies and endorsements
Work closely with GLCR colleagues on legal, regulatory, and compliance issues
Provide advice and insights on policies and endorsements used by other market participants
Ensure underwriting intent is reflected in policy wording
Collaborate with other areas in AIG
Drive remediation of existing policies and endorsements
Act as a liaison coordinating drafting and discussions
Support the maintenance of a policy and endorsement repository
Provide policy and endorsement training for AIG underwriting staff
Provide input to data science teams

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of Product Counsel experience
JD required
Experience in Property and Casualty preferred
Demonstrated experience advising senior business partners/clients on complex insurance wording, coverage, and related transactional matters
Proven ability to work in a team environment
Strong ability to prioritize projects and deliver with excellence in a high pace environment
Exceptional oral and written communicator
Driven problem solver
Very detail oriented
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and legal research databases
