About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Investigate and manage auto physical damage claims from first notice of loss through final resolution.
- Review coverage, determine liability as applicable, and evaluate vehicle damages.
- Coordinate inspections with repair facilities, appraisers, rental vendors, and customers.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with insureds, claimants, attorneys, and internal partners.
- Review estimates, photographs, repair documentation, and total loss evaluations.
- Negotiate settlements within authority limits and document claim activity accurately.
- Monitor claim progress to ensure timely handling and compliance with company standards and state regulations.
- Identify potential fraud indicators and escalate concerns when appropriate.
- Maintain productivity, quality, and customer service expectations in a fast-paced environment.
- Assist customers through what can often be a stressful experience with empathy and professionalism.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2+ years of experience in insurance claims, customer service, collision estimating, or related field preferred
- Basic understanding of automobile repair processes and vehicle damage evaluation preferred
- Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
- Comfortable using claims management systems and standard business software
- Ability to make sound decisions and apply problem-solving skills
- Property and casualty licenses required. Must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
