Key responsibilities & impact

Responsible for leading overall claims business functions of the Federal/Defense Base Act (DBA) office.
Directing activities consistent with the mission statement of AIG Claims.
Providing leadership that encourages and supports a professional environment.
Implementing procedures that will shape behaviors to achieve quality results.
Evaluating and measuring operational compliance in concert with Claim Handling Guidelines.
Directly responsible for implementing a people strategy that supports training and skills improvement initiatives.
Directing and leading team in achieving business strategies and plans in support of agreed upon objectives.

Requirements

What you’ll need

10 years claims adjusting experience and prior leadership experience within a claim technical operation.
In-depth understanding of Workers’ Compensation claim handling and servicing requirements.
Leadership skills in direction setting, change management, customer focus and talent development.
Analytical skills with strong business acumen and ability to work across organization in matrix reporting relationships.
Strong (oral / written) communication and interpersonal skills.
Technical expertise in one or more claim functions.
Career development, mentoring and coaching skills.
