About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Responsible for leading overall claims business functions of the Federal/Defense Base Act (DBA) office.
- Directing activities consistent with the mission statement of AIG Claims.
- Providing leadership that encourages and supports a professional environment.
- Implementing procedures that will shape behaviors to achieve quality results.
- Evaluating and measuring operational compliance in concert with Claim Handling Guidelines.
- Directly responsible for implementing a people strategy that supports training and skills improvement initiatives.
- Directing and leading team in achieving business strategies and plans in support of agreed upon objectives.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10 years claims adjusting experience and prior leadership experience within a claim technical operation.
- In-depth understanding of Workers’ Compensation claim handling and servicing requirements.
- Leadership skills in direction setting, change management, customer focus and talent development.
- Analytical skills with strong business acumen and ability to work across organization in matrix reporting relationships.
- Strong (oral / written) communication and interpersonal skills.
- Technical expertise in one or more claim functions.
- Career development, mentoring and coaching skills.
