About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Responsible for leading overall claims business functions of the Federal/Defense Base Act (DBA) office.
  • Directing activities consistent with the mission statement of AIG Claims.
  • Providing leadership that encourages and supports a professional environment.
  • Implementing procedures that will shape behaviors to achieve quality results.
  • Evaluating and measuring operational compliance in concert with Claim Handling Guidelines.
  • Directly responsible for implementing a people strategy that supports training and skills improvement initiatives.
  • Directing and leading team in achieving business strategies and plans in support of agreed upon objectives.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10 years claims adjusting experience and prior leadership experience within a claim technical operation.
  • In-depth understanding of Workers’ Compensation claim handling and servicing requirements.
  • Leadership skills in direction setting, change management, customer focus and talent development.
  • Analytical skills with strong business acumen and ability to work across organization in matrix reporting relationships.
  • Strong (oral / written) communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Technical expertise in one or more claim functions.
  • Career development, mentoring and coaching skills.
