About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Expand and implement the Financial Lines strategy across the MGA and alternative distribution channels (in particular: D&O, Cyber and Professional Indemnity - PI)
Primary point of contact for MGAs and alternative distribution partners in the Financial Lines DACH region
Handle underwriting inquiries in day-to-day operations within these areas (e.g., referrals)
Work closely with the Financial Lines product teams, other SME areas within AIG, and the distribution/sales teams
Identify key distribution partners, develop and expand partnerships, support sales activities, and contribute to tender participation
Responsible for onboarding MGA and alternative distribution partners, leading and executing the onboarding processes
Manage the portfolio and further develop underwriting criteria together with MGAs and alternative distribution partners
Conduct portfolio analysis in close cooperation with Financial Lines management and actuaries to improve portfolio steering
Support underwriting in ensuring data quality
Review and harmonize interfaces between MGAs/alternative distribution partners and AIG

Requirements

What you’ll need

Completed degree in law, business administration, engineering, or a comparable field (Master's degree advantageous), or equivalent professional qualification
Substantial professional experience in Financial Lines as a team leader or senior underwriter
Experience working with MGAs
Participation in internal strategy projects is a plus
Interest in IT and system solutions
Strong team player with quick comprehension and decisiveness
High resilience, particularly when working under stress and tight deadlines, and strong assertiveness
Solid knowledge of IT system landscapes is an advantage
Fluent German and English
