About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Handling some of the largest and most complex Casualty claims in the industry
Investigating, evaluating, and dispositioning new and existing 3rd party property and casualty claims
Directing litigation, attending mediations and trials, assessing liability and damages, and recommending reserves
Presenting the large value cases to senior management
Clear communication and guidance to insureds, brokers, attorneys, and claimants
Documenting exposure evaluation and resolution strategy
Negotiating multimillion-dollar claims with top plaintiff attorneys nationwide
Strategizing and budgeting litigation through discussions with counsel, vendors, and insureds

Requirements

What you’ll need

8+ years of Commercial/Industry claims experience preferred
Excellent communication ability (verbal/written) and strong negotiation skills
Advanced experience and capabilities in litigation claims management including ADR and mediation process
Experience attending and controlling claims - pre-suit, litigated and post-trial - at mediations, settlement conferences, etc.
JD helpful but not required
Property and Casualty adjusting licenses required and must be obtained within 6 months
Interest in the potential for an upwardly mobile career path
