About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop your expertise in handling and investigating complex claims
- Handle genuine claims through a proactive, best practice approach
- Actively promote and demonstrate the principles of ‘Treating Customers Fairly’
- Proactively identify and review suspect/fraudulent claims
- Maintain regular contact with internal stakeholders and brokers, experts, and clients' lawyers
- Build effective relationships with internal and external customers
- Provide support to Team Managers and deputy in their absence
- Assist with monitoring market/industry practices in claims handling
Requirements
What you’ll need- Knowledge of legal / regulatory and litigation / procedural requirements for Workers' Compensation
- Specialist knowledge of Workers' Compensation technical claims topics is preferred
- At least some experience in negotiation, mediation, and arbitration
- Policy language skills enabling accurate and consistent policy wording interpretation
- Lateral thinking and the ability to problem solve and develop new ideas to improve working practices
- Strong communication, time management, administrative and report-writing skills.
