About the role

  • Estimate new construction projects along with upgrades to existing customers' fire sprinkler systems
  • Develop and grow a customer base through persuasion and relationship management skills
  • Perform preliminary design and calculations for bid estimates
  • Prepare pricing for materials, labor, freight, and fabrication
  • Seek out competitive vendors and services to assure competitive bidding for fire protection projects
  • Prepare scope and quotation letters for customers
  • Maintain monthly estimate logs
  • Meet with management to discuss estimating backlog and due dates
  • Participate in turnover meetings and assist with customer follow-up information

Requirements

  • 5+ years of fire protection contracting experience
  • Prior design, sales, project management or field experience
  • Experience in bidding work and strong understanding of estimating
  • Excellent communication, customer service and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
