About the role
- Join our Legal team, where you’ll play a key role in safeguarding our business operations through contract management and strategic legal support
- Review and negotiate a wide range of documents, including contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and NDAs
- Serve as a central point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, resolving questions and issues related to contract language negotiations, approvals, and insurance requirements
- Prepare and negotiate vendor agreements and major equipment purchase orders
- Maintain organized records within our contract management system to support transparency and operational efficiency
- Collaborate closely with the General Counsel to assist with general liability claims, change order correspondence, and job dispute resolution
- Supervise Ahern’s Bids and Contracts Administrator that will support in reviewing contracts
Requirements
- A law degree and admission to practice in Wisconsin (or eligibility for admission by reciprocity) with at least two years of experience, with a primary focus on contract negotiation and drafting
- Demonstrating experience reviewing and negotiating contract language, along with a working knowledge of insurance certificates and coverages
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam markup software
- Attention to detail, strong reading comprehension, and ability to manage a large number of diverse tasks and deadlines
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, whether in person, over the phone, or via email
