About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Collect soil, water, leaf, petiole, and other agricultural samples from farms according to relevant SOPs
Capture location data using Trimble or MYFARMWEB™ CAPTURE
Complete online job cards for every sample by accurately capturing data
Send samples to the correct laboratories
Complete weekly machine checklists
Perform ad hoc and other related duties as assigned
Support Agriculture Specialists and Soil Scientists through sample collection and submission

Requirements

What you’ll need

National Senior Certificate
Agriculture qualification advantageous
Agriculture experience advantageous
Computer literate
Full professional proficiency in Afrikaans and English, speaking and writing
Able to lift and carry more than 12 pounds/6 kg comfortably
Excellent attention to detail
Comfortable with routine work and flexible in ad hoc situations
Able to work under pressure
Excellent communication skills
Effective organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks
Able to work independently and in a team environment
Must own or be able to acquire a suitable pickup truck (bakkie)
Must be available to work every second Saturday, as required
Must be willing to travel extensively, locally and internationally
Must be prepared to work long hours when necessary
Preference given to candidates residing in the area; no relocation assistance provided
