Key responsibilities & impact- Architect and execute complex integrations across robotic systems, customer APIs, sensors, and software
- Develop software integrations using Python, REST API, and MQTT
- Design mechatronics systems and industrial automation adapted to customer applications
- Integrate IoT devices with customer equipment including PLCs, conveyors, and sensors
- Lead on-site commissioning, field testing, and iterative problem-solving
- Serve as a subject matter expert on product capabilities, APIs, and behavior
- Develop custom tools, scripts, and software modules to extend robotic functionality
- Identify root causes of systemic issues and partner with engineering on long-term resolutions
- Support go-to-market efforts, new features, and early deployments through field validation
- Collaborate with customers to scope technical requirements and adapt site conditions
- Partner with Product and Systems Engineering to provide field-based roadmap feedback
- Deliver advanced training and documentation to internal teams and external customers
- Design reusable, scalable integration templates
- Mentor junior and mid-level team members and drive integration best practices
- Travel approximately 20–50% to support customer deployments, pilots, and field testing
Requirements
What you’ll need- BS/MS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience
- 6+ years of experience deploying robotics or automation systems in real-world environments
- Experience designing mechatronics systems or industrial automation
- Expertise in Python, networking, and hardware/software system interfacing
- Proven ability to solve complex technical problems at the intersection of automation and customer needs
- Strong communication and leadership skills to drive alignment across engineering, product, and external stakeholders
- Ability to own complex projects independently and mentor others
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time
- Current authorization to work in the United States
- Bonus: Experience with Linux
- Bonus: Experience leading pilots or customer-focused technical programs in robotics or automation
- Bonus: Familiarity with ROS, safety standards, electromechanical systems, or industrial networks
- Bonus: Advanced programming skills such as C++, TypeScript, or Kotlin
- Bonus: Experience contributing to SDKs, developer tools, or integration frameworks
- Bonus: Experience building reusable deployment tooling or scalable field support systems
