About the role

  • Connect with SCP (Strategic Customer Program) customers' procurement (Global / Regional) to generate high-impact, strategic commercial agreements (e.g., MFAs, Pricing & Discount Agreements, RFPs) that position Agilent as their preferred vendor and expand our wallet share.
  • Develop and execute commercial strategies for each account in intimate collaboration with the respective Strategic Accounts Managers and Experts in Finance / Legal / Contracts.
  • Align our One Agilent commercial approach globally within a given SCP account (e.g., support regions to set up amendments for their local requirements)
  • Lead the negotiations – be the face and spokesperson to customer procurement: Orchestrate Agilent resources to form a negotiation team with defined R&R and deliverables.
  • Set the strategy and tactics for the respective negotiation rounds.
  • Be the expert & consultant for your SCP peers for all strategies, tactics, tools, and processes around impactful negotiations.
  • Mentor and train peers to enhance their capabilities - Share your expertise & experience proactively.
  • Work with Finance & Legal to develop customized financial solutions to support the individual financial challenges & requirements for our customers.
  • Lead our SCP initiatives for “monetization of value”.
  • Interface closely with Finance, Legal, and Agilent Executives to share customer insights and to gain support/approval for contracts, commercial models, collaborations, etc.
  • Monitor and share industry trends in procurement and sourcing.
  • Monitor and report on contract negotiation projects, commercial program execution with key performance indicators (# projects, timelines, savings, risk mitigation, goal achievement etc.)

Requirements

  • Degree in Economics, Legal, or Natural Sciences
  • Strong experience (8+years) and professional skills in negotiating contracts, large deals, T&C’s, etc., ideally in the context of lab equipment and/or service of laboratory instrumentation and software.
  • International business experience and familiar with working with large multinational companies.
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to judge & balance cross-functional requirements
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and build productive business relationships, both internal/external.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and oral presentation/negotiation skills in English / native language
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
