About the role

  • Participate in contract kick-off meetings to ensure project setup optimizes accounting software capabilities for project revenue, billing, and reporting using DELTEK Costpoint and Costpoint Business Intelligence.
  • Assist in development of WBS for new projects and new project setup meetings.
  • Prepare detailed Estimates at Completion (EACs) for assigned projects and review with project managers; provide to project accounting at least quarterly or when significant changes occur.
  • Review monthly project costs and revenue, validate monthly cost accruals, monitor actual cost performance against plans/budgets, and prepare variance analysis, reports and presentations.
  • Review detailed costs for recording accuracy; prepare correction forms for non-labor adjustments and coordinate required labor corrections.
  • Prepare monthly program review presentations and present monthly operating results to management as needed.
  • Monitor project spending and backlog including labor, Other Direct Costs, and subcontract costs; notify Project Managers and Contracts at 75%/85% funding thresholds.
  • Monitor and reconcile unbilled balances monthly.
  • Monitor contract funding, track commitments, develop projections and coordinate with contracts for notifications on limitations and additional funding requests.
  • Identify at-risk funding and mitigation solutions.
  • Assist project managers with annual direct and indirect budget preparation.
  • Support development of cost proposals for bids, ROMs and equitable adjustment requests; develop budgets for significant cost proposals and review actuals to budgets.
  • Determine impact of over/under applied indirect costs on direct projects to maximize revenues and profits.
  • Review customer invoices for contract compliance; monitor aging receivables and assist in collection efforts, recommending allowance for bad debt when appropriate.
  • Assist in project close-out and validate project setup for contractual compliance.
  • Ensure timely distribution of monthly project reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferable in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • 5+ years' experience in Project Finance and/or Accounting in a government contracting environment (5-10 years in PC role preferred).
  • Experience using Deltek Costpoint (Costpoint Planning, project setup, revenue recognition, billing setup).
  • Knowledge of government contract types including Firm Fixed Price, Time and Materials, and Cost Reimbursable.
  • Experience with large contracts that have multiple CLIN and revenue types.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of financial analysis processes and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, advanced Excel skills essential.
  • Ability to interact and communicate, both oral and written, with individuals across the organization.
  • Organized, detail oriented, motivated and able to multitask in a fast paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented with a strong work ethic.
  • Clearance Level: Active DoD - Secret.
  • Preferred: Experience with Deltek Costpoint/Reporting.
