About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform Advanced FEA & CFD Simulations: Conduct structural, thermal, fatigue, vibration, modal, harmonic, nonlinear, and fluid dynamics simulations for power generation equipment, including airflow, cooling, combustion, and heat transfer analysis.
  • Develop and Validate Numerical Models: Create and validate finite element models for various components (engines, generators, enclosures, etc.) and perform transient/steady-state CFD simulations to evaluate system performance.
  • Evaluate Component Integrity and Performance: Assess stress, strain, deformation, fatigue life, and failure risks, and analyze thermal management and cooling systems under various operational conditions.
  • Support Design Optimization & Product Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve reliability, durability, manufacturability, and cost efficiency, and provide recommendations for performance enhancement throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis and Failure Investigations: Utilize simulation studies to support root cause analysis and investigate equipment failures, correlating analytical results with test and field data.
  • Ensure Documentation & Compliance: Prepare detailed technical reports, calculation notes, and design recommendations, ensuring compliance with industry standards, customer specifications, and internal engineering processes.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A Bachelor's or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • 6–10 years of hands-on experience in FEA and CFD analysis, ideally within power generation, diesel/gas engines, generators, rotating equipment, energy systems, or heavy engineering industries.
  • Strong understanding of core engineering principles including structural mechanics, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, thermodynamics, and vibration analysis, as well as knowledge of fatigue, thermal analysis, modal analysis, turbulence modeling, and heat exchanger design.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with leading FEA software (e.g., ANSYS Mechanical, Abaqus, Altair HyperWorks, MSC Nastran) and CFD software (e.g., ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM+, OpenFOAM).
  • Experience with CAD platforms (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo Parametric, CATIA) and familiarity with relevant industry standards such as ASME, API, ISO, and IEEE.
