About the role
- Support development teams on database-related matters, including data modeling best practices, query writing, and optimization;
- Administration, maintenance and evolution of Oracle Database environments on on-premises and cloud infrastructure;
- Performance analysis, database tuning, and query optimization in high-volume, mission-critical environments;
- Implementation of high-availability, replication, backup, and disaster recovery solutions;
- Propose and implement data architecture improvements to enhance scalability, resilience, and operational efficiency;
- Continuous monitoring of database environments to ensure stability, capacity, and performance;
- Work closely with application teams for impact analysis, troubleshooting, and performance improvements;
- Create automations and scripts to eliminate repetitive operational tasks and increase environment reliability;
- Contribute to data security, availability, and integrity by defining access, auditing, and recovery procedures;
- Implement and maintain backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies;
- Conduct proactive capacity and performance analyses;
- Evaluate new technologies, tools, and features within the Oracle ecosystem;
- Serve as a technical database reference, supporting other professionals and promoting best practices;
- Track Oracle technology roadmaps and market trends, contributing to innovation strategies;
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for the data platform and associated services;
- Data modeling and support in defining efficient structures for applications;
- Create, modify, and maintain database objects (tables, indexes, procedures, packages, etc.);
- Analyze information and support technical decision-making;
- Identify and fix database-related bugs;
- Perform code reviews focused on quality, performance, and data access best practices.
Requirements
- Solid experience as an Oracle DBA in critical, high-volume data environments;
- Advanced knowledge of Oracle Database administration (installation, configuration, tuning, and troubleshooting);
- Experience with performance tuning, AWR/ASH analysis, execution plans, and query optimization;
- Knowledge of backup and recovery (RMAN), Data Guard, replication, and high-availability strategies;
- Experience with cloud environments and modern infrastructure architectures;
- Proficiency in PL/SQL and data manipulation languages;
- Experience with data modeling and relational database best practices;
- Knowledge of database monitoring and automation tools;
- Experience with heterogeneous database environments such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or MongoDB is a plus;
- Knowledge of integration with applications, APIs, and programming languages;
- Familiarity with CI/CD processes, automation, and infrastructure-as-code is a plus.
