About the role
- Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot the daily operations of all covered EI equipment and associated activities
- Coordinate any scheduled downtime with site leadership and document all implications of such downtime on the clinical imaging system
- Collaborate with customer resources on fault tolerance and recovery testing to ensure compliance with the relevant site policies
- Communicate with administration to ensure that operating standards, policies, and procedures align with the organization's needs
- Cooperate with Agfa to identify both present and future requirements for software and equipment lifecycle management
- Attend and participate in departmental and hospital meetings, as appropriate
- Prepare reports for administration, as needed or directed
- Investigate, identify, and prepare proposals to resolve specific workflow inefficiencies while anticipating departmental needs
- Assist with coordination of end-user training and address functionality inquiries from radiology and clinical staff
- Ensure the timely and comprehensive capture of DICOM digital image data into the PACS, along with network transmission, RIS validation, and exception handling
- Monitor report turnaround times and related reporting information
- Review feedback from end-users, compile and analyze support data, and recommend procedural and educational modifications as appropriate
- Verify the proper archiving of studies in accordance with established archive rules
- Manage job queues, including active status, retries, and failed jobs
- Investigate failed jobs and workflows
- Route to third-party DICOM systems
- Ensure data integrity by monitoring and directing the repair of studies
- Guide customer PACS teams in checking and rectifying unverified studies
- Assist customer PACS teams with performing study fix-ups, splits, and merges
- Verification reporting tasks
- Monitor and track system performance
- Develop backup and disaster recovery plans
- Review service updates and bulletins
- Provide information on EI components for security ratings
- Provide guidance on antivirus suite exclusions
- Examine log files and reports
- Use reports and user inquiries to investigate and resolve issues
- Collaborate with regional support teams
Requirements
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 5-7 years of systems administrator experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work with diverse groups
- Ability to manage multi-disciplinary projects
- Familiarity with radiology/imaging apps
- CIIP certification preferred
- Preferred certifications: Security+, Network+, MCSA Windows Server, VMware VCA/VCP, LFCS, Oracle OCA
