About the role
- The Senior Product Manager, Workday Financials is the business partner and technical owner of the enterprise Procure-to-Pay (P2P) ecosystem.
- Serving as the critical bridge between Finance teams (Procurement, Accounts Payable, Reimbursements) and the technology stack.
- Responsible for the strategic roadmap, configuration, and systemic optimization of Workday Financials.
- Implement scalable, compliant, and highly automated financial workflows from Requisition to Payment, ensuring the organization achieves its goals for touchless processing and maintains robust internal controls.
- Own and evolve the end-to-end product vision for the entire Procure-to-Pay lifecycle.
- Serve as the functional Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Workday Procurement and Supplier Accounts.
- Lead the configuration, testing, and deployment of Workday updates and semi-annual releases, ensuring seamless business continuity and the adoption of new system capabilities.
- Architect and implement intuitive workflows within Workday that minimize end-user friction while maintaining strict financial controls.
- Analyze current workflows to identify systemic bottlenecks, significantly reducing cycle times for approvals and payments.
- Provide training, demos, and product updates to internal stakeholders. Clearly communicate product changes, new features, and operational benefits to relevant teams.
- Monitor product performance post-launch to ensure its alignment with business outcomes. Define key metrics for success and establish a feedback loop to drive product iterations.
- Drive automation initiatives across the financial stack, including the deployment of Automated Payment Rules, supplier punch-outs, and integrations with Optical Character Recognition (OCR) tools.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex, system-level process breaks.
- Partner with Sourcing, Accounts Payable, and Expense Audit leadership to define advanced requirements for supplier payment flows and spend analysis.
- Collaborate with IT, Data Science, and Engineering squads to design and oversee complex integrations between Workday and third-party enterprise tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience required.
- 8-10 years of total professional experience in Product Management, Business Systems Analysis, or Financial Operations.
- Minimum of 2 years of direct, hands-on configuration and optimization experience within a Workday Financials environment, specifically utilizing the Procurement, Supplier Accounts, or Expenses modules.
- Deep understanding of the full Procure-to-Pay lifecycle, vendor master data management, payment flows, and three-way matching/reconciliation.
- Experience with OCR tools (e.g., Kofax, ScanOne) or advanced procurement marketplaces is preferred.
- Proven experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment, managing backlogs utilizing tools such as Jira.
