About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for insulation, firestopping, and fireproofing projects.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, addenda, and bid documents to ensure complete project scope.
- Estimate residential, commercial, tenant improvement (TI), remodel, and ground-up construction projects.
- Develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates.
- Utilize estimating and digital takeoff software such as BAS-SPEED, On-Screen Takeoff (OST), Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar platforms.
- Identify scope gaps, risks, and opportunities for value engineering.
- Coordinate with internal team members to ensure estimated accuracy and timely bid submissions.
- Maintain organized estimating documentation and project files.
- Manage multiple bids while consistently meeting deadlines.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 3–6+ years of experience estimating U.S.-based construction projects.
- Proven estimating experience in insulation projects is highly preferred.
- Experience with firestopping and/or fireproofing scopes is strongly preferred.
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Excellent analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
