About the role
- Manage and supervise bookkeeping staff and oversee division of duties.
- Take full responsibility for accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) management across multiple client accounts.
- Ensure comprehensive month-end close, including booking transactions, making adjusting journal entries, and preparing financial statements for review.
- Maintain proficiency in and day-to-day use of Ramp (AP platform) and QuickBooks Online.
- Provide reliable financial data for forecasting and support the fractional CFO with financial modeling (mainly Excel) and data entry when needed.
- Review and correct financials prior to CFO review, minimizing the need for additional adjustments.
- Participate in special projects as needed, including due diligence for fundraising or acquisition, and preparation for audits.
- Communicate clearly with team members and clients; work collaboratively but independently.
Requirements
- At least 2-5 years of experience as a Controller
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
- Solid understanding of GAAP and accounting process management.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online required; Ramp experience preferred but not required.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with financial reporting (P&L, Balance Sheet, Statement of Cash Flows).
- Willingness and ability to work US business hours.
- Entrepreneurial, proactive, and eager to learn; experience with due diligence or audit processes is a plus.
