About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • An Art Director (AD) is responsible for creating KVs (Key Visuals) for our campaigns, among other materials for a wide variety of channels.
  • Master the technical aspects of Creative work and Adobe tools: cut out images, perform photo retouching, manipulate images, use vector illustration tools, choose and work with fonts/typography, and create layouts for pieces such as flyers, brochures, ads for online and offline media, and social media posts.
  • Be able to create layout variations derived from a KV (Key Visual) produced by the Creative Director.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to Art Assistants and Junior Art Directors.
  • Build strong working relationships with the team.
  • Contribute creative proposals to projects.
  • Strategically develop creative pieces, considering the channels in which they will be used and the audience they aim to reach.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in the role at an advertising agency.
  • Bachelor's degree in Advertising (Publicidade & Propaganda) or related courses that cover the scope of work. Courses from creative schools are desirable (e.g., Escola Cuca, Miami Ad School).
  • Present an online digital portfolio (website, Behance, etc.) or a PDF portfolio with examples of advertising work you have created.
  • Analytical and critical mindset to identify issues and propose solutions.
  • Basic knowledge of print file preparation: ability to verify if images are high resolution, prepare PDF/X-1a files, etc.
  • Proficient in the Adobe suite (Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign).
  • Proficient with Mac/OS (Apple).
  • Comfortable working in groups and collaborating.
  • Confident in oral presentations and clear communication.
  • Additional skills such as illustration/character design; lettering (hand-drawn typography); proficiency in 3D tools; knowledge of AI (MidJourney, ChatGPT, etc.); or other specialized skills will be considered a plus.
