About the role
- An Art Director (AD) is responsible for creating KVs (Key Visuals) for our campaigns, as well as producing other materials for a variety of channels.
- Mastery of creative technical skills and Adobe tools: cutting out images, photo retouching, image manipulation, use of vector illustration tools, selecting and handling fonts/typography, and creating layouts for pieces such as flyers, brochures, ads for online and offline media, and social media posts;
- Ability to produce layout variations based on a KV (Key Visual) created by the Creative Director;
- Guide Art Assistants and Junior Art Directors with technical questions and provide support;
- Build strong working relationships with the team;
- Propose creative solutions for assignments;
- Develop pieces strategically, considering the channels in which they will be used and the target audience they aim to reach.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the role at an advertising agency;
- Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Marketing, Communication, or a related field. Courses at specialized creative schools are desirable (e.g., Escola Cuca, Miami Ad School);
- Present an online digital portfolio (website, Behance, etc.) or a PDF portfolio with examples of advertising work you have produced;
- Analytical and critical mindset to identify issues and propose solutions;
- Basic knowledge of print file finalization/prepress: e.g., confirming images are high-resolution, exporting PDF/X-1a, etc.;
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign);
- Proficiency with Mac/OS (Apple);
- Comfortable working in groups/teams;
- Comfortable with oral presentations and clear communication;
- Additional skills such as illustration/character design, lettering (hand-drawn typography), proficiency with 3D tools, familiarity with AI tools (MidJourney, ChatGPT, etc.), or other specialized abilities will be a plus.
