About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop, evolve, and maintain scalable, high-availability backend services.
Build APIs and integrations with internal and external systems.
Actively participate in squad technical discussions, contributing to architecture decisions and best practices.
Perform code reviews to ensure code quality, readability, and maintainability.
Work with distributed systems and microservices-based architecture.
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and continuous deployment best practices.
Monitor applications (logs, metrics, alerts), identifying and resolving issues.
Collaborate with Product, Data, and Infrastructure teams to build efficient, scalable solutions.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong experience in backend development with at least one modern language (Python, Go, or Node.js).
Experience with backend frameworks (such as FastAPI, Django, Express, Echo, Fiber, or similar).
Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems.
Knowledge of messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar).
Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis).
Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and CI/CD practices.
Experience with automated testing and development best practices.
Ability to analyze technical trade-offs (performance, scalability, cost, and security).
Experience working in agile squads and collaborating in code reviews.
Differentials:
Previous experience with high-availability or mission-critical systems.
Experience with multiple integrations (external APIs, authentication, billing, legacy systems).
Prior experience technically leading parts of projects or initiatives.
Ability to contribute to architecture definition and solution design in partnership with Product.
