About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Advocate for claimants by providing access to community services such as financial assistance, legal aid, and housing
  • Develop, plan, and implement programs to improve the comfort and care of patients and their families
  • Advise family caregivers regarding medical decisions

  • Handle complex issues and refer only the most complex issues to higher-level staff

  • Connect clients with healthcare services, financial aid programs, rehabilitation services, and legal assistance
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions and referrals
  • Conduct research to remain current on developments in social work
  • Perform other related duties as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field
  • Master's degree in social work or a related field
  • Professional master's level license, such as LCSW, LMHC, or LPC
  • 3 or more years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Familiarity with disability claim management concepts
  • Understanding of medical terminology, pathology, and anatomy
  • Articulate verbal and writing skills
  • Decision-making ability
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work with confidential information
  • Moderate skills with Microsoft Office and other software applications
