About the role
- Monitors a portfolio of high impact suppliers and collects/reports supplier risk data
- Creates and manages reporting instruments to company governance committees and groups
- Performs supplier due diligence activities in cooperation with other business partners
- Prepares reports and delivers presentations to governance committees detailing supplier risk levels
- Manages specific risk processes such as financial health assessments and quarterly monitoring
- Educates internal stakeholders on supplier risk management policies and procedures
- Develops working relationships with business partners and suppliers to identify/mitigate risk and improve performance
- Supports development, improvement, and implementation of supplier risk related policies and programs
- Maintains knowledge of best practices and industry trends related to supplier risk management
- Acts as liaison between Aflac and suppliers, managing relationships, expectations, and results
- Manages supplier performance scorecard process and supports quarterly business reviews (QBRs)
- Collaborates to resolve contract compliance issues and monitor supplier performance and customer satisfaction
- Monitors news outlets for information impacting high impact suppliers
- Supports supplier segmentation/stratification, strategic sourcing, and supplier sustainability initiatives
- Performs other related duties as required
Requirements
- Intermediate knowledge of sourcing principles, indirect procurement, supplier analysis, supplier relationship management principles, third party risk management principles, and primary and secondary research methods
- Knowledge of the principles, techniques, and methodology of project management and change management
- Skill in and demonstrated experience performing financial/cost analyses, business case development, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and decision modeling
- Excellent presentation, oral, written, and interpersonal communication and team facilitation skills
- Aptitude for conceptualizing, communicating and selling new concepts and analytic problem solving
- Ability to effectively communicate complex issues and concerns to Aflac leadership and suppliers
- Strong personal computer skills with experience in Windows-based software (SAP and Ariba preferred)
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Information Technology or Supply Chain Management
- 6+ years of professional job-related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Preferred: Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM)
