About the role

  • Utilize coding expertise to perform quality reviews on internal coders.
  • Use audit tool to analyze quality results and track overall quality.
  • Work with the Managers and Supervisors across Coding Solutions to perform coding quality audits on UASI Coders.
  • Perform necessary feedback and research to Coders in response to coding questions.
  • Provide education to Coders as needed based on audit findings.
  • Identify trends and perform training to improve Coder quality.
  • Work with Managers and Supervisors to identify performance needs of Coders and create training to increase performance levels.
  • Comply with UASI’s policies regarding the use and disclosure of protected health information which includes accessing and using protected health information only to the extent necessary to fulfill the above-mentioned responsibilities.

Requirements

  • RHIA, RHIT or CCS certification
  • 2-5 years’ minimum experience performing inpatient facility audits and reviews in addition to previous coding experience
  • Knowledge and experience of coding guidelines including but not limited to ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT/HCPCS coding skills, DRG and APC assignment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office including 365, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Strong computer skills including the ability to utilize UASI audit software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate clearly.
