About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Set technical strategy for the team on a year-long time scale and connect it to critical, business-impacting projects
Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics throughout the product development lifecycle
Define and advocate for technical solutions and operational processes
Own team operations and availability, including monitoring, triage rotations, playbooks, policies, testing, alerting, and on-call efforts
Set code review and design standards and advocate for quality and ownership through writing and tech talks
Develop team talent through feedback, guidance, and leading by example

Requirements

What you’ll need

7+ years of experience developing and architecting mobile applications
4+ years of experience using React Native
Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript
Hands-on experience with React Native and Expo
Experience authoring or migrating native modules and components
Experience with complex state management in a React app; Redux Toolkit proficiency is a bonus
Experience performing React Native SDK major updates and debugging across the JS↔native boundary under the New Architecture
Up-to-date knowledge of native OS releases and their impact on React Native apps
Experience with mobile testing and observability tooling, including Maestro/Appium, Sentry/Crashlytics, and Statsig/LaunchDarkly
Proficiency with AI-assisted development, such as Claude Code or comparable agentic tooling
Proven track record driving a team to execute large projects
Experience delivering major features or system components, or deprecating existing functionality, through technical and execution plans
Ability to write high-quality, understandable, reusable code
Ability to work from low-level language idioms to large-system architecture
Demonstrated ability to gather and iterate on feedback
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field
