About the role

Work on the Merchant Data Platform, a backend foundational service responsible for merchant data and identity across merchant touchpoints, serving millions of requests per day and maintaining strict availability and latency SLAs
Break down larger projects into individual tasks, deliver them in multiple phases, and collaborate with others to ensure timely delivery
Support peers and stakeholders in the product development lifecycle by collaborating with product management, design and analytics; participate in ideation and articulate technical constraints
Support operations and availability by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating when needed, and supporting keep-the-lights-on and on-call efforts
Contribute to team growth and community by participating in interviews and other development activities

2+ years of experience as a software engineer
Experience designing, developing and launching backend systems
Proficient in one of Python or Kotlin
Familiar with building blocks of distributed systems and technologies like AWS, MySQL and Kubernetes
Able to take a simple problem or business scenario into a solution that interacts with multiple software components and execute by writing clear, well tested and extensible code
Comfortable navigating a large code base, debugging others' code, and providing feedback through code reviews
Demonstrated ownership of growth; proactively seeks feedback from team, manager, and stakeholders
Must be based in Spain (visa sponsorship available)
