About the role

  • Provide direct support to the Director, Compliance, helping identify and mitigate compliance risks without compromising business objectives
  • Identify and report on data sources to support the firm's regulatory submissions, prepare data summaries for the UK Risk Management Committee and Board level, and ensure timely submissions to regulators like the FCA
  • Lead development of the firm's Compliance Monitoring Programme (CMP), conduct compliance assurance reviews and testing, report findings, and support enterprise-wide compliance risk assessment
  • Lead development and operationalisation of the firm's Appointed Representative (AR) framework, act as primary contact for the AR network, and ensure AR-related reporting and notifications to the FCA
  • Lead regulatory input for the firm's MI dashboard focusing on consumer outcomes and Consumer Duty requirements, prepare annual Consumer Duty Board report, and provide regulatory advice on Fair Value Assessment (FVA)
  • Develop horizon scanning process for regulatory changes, assist in creating and updating compliance training materials, and ensure AR framework policy and process are consistently applied
  • Work cross-functionally with Legal, Risk, Marketing, and Product to review financial services marketing materials and provide compliance advice
  • Assess the firm's governance structure against regulatory requirements and recommend improvements

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional experience in compliance advisory and monitoring, ideally within a UK-regulated consumer credit, Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL), or automotive finance environment
  • High-level working knowledge of UK regulations, including the Consumer Duty, the Senior Managers & Certification Regime (SMCR), and anti-money laundering regulations (MLRs, POCA, JMLSG)
  • Proficiency in using FCA regulatory reporting systems like Connect, Reg Data, and My FCA
  • Proactive and inquisitive problem-solver with outstanding communication skills
  • Ability to operate calmly in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; compliance certifications are a plus
