About the role

  • Join product team onsite in Carson, CA to develop and optimize processes for surface finishing and treatment.
  • Develop and improve robotic manufacturing processes for sanding, polishing, spray coating/coating removal, and similar applications.
  • Collaborate with engineers to develop and optimize robotic manufacturing processes for surface finishing and treatment.
  • Support the team in enhancing process efficiency and product quality by applying knowledge of material science.
  • Assist in the implementation of new end-of-arm tools (EOAT) for robotic manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate closely with customers to understand their specific requirements and provide tailored automation solutions.
  • Work closely with the engineering team and manufacturers to integrate process improvements and automation solutions effectively.
  • Assist in analyzing manufacturing data to support process optimization efforts.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in material science and automation technology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Materials and Process Engineering, Material Science, or a related field.
  • 1+ years of industry experience within a manufacturing environment working on manufacturing process development, manufacturing engineering or similar.
  • Proficiency in material science principles and their application to manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced and innovative environment with quickly changing priorities.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across multiple teams.
  • Must secure work authorization in the United States and maintain ongoing work authorization beginning at the time of hire through the entirety of employment.
  • Export Control: Applicant must be U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident (green card), Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158.
  • Preferred: Proven experience in process engineering within a manufacturing environment.
  • Preferred: Understanding of automated and robotic systems, including machine tools, end-of-arm tools and basic programming.
  • Preferred: Experience with CAD software for tool design.
